Daniel and Fredrik were early pioneers in their vision to create a more open financial system in Europe. Long-term friends and repeat entrepreneurs, they founded Tink in Stockholm in 2012 to build data-driven and personalised financial products for Europe consumers.
Seeing the disruptive potential of emerging open banking regulations in 2018, and the opportunity to take a strategic position in the ecosystem, Tink pivoted into a B2B infrastructure platform, built standardized API connectivity to thousands of European banks - the rails and brains of open banking data - and quickly assumed market leadership.
We led Tink's €90 million Series D in 2020 and co-led the €85 million Series E later that year. In June 2021, the company was acquired by Visa $2.2 billion, a testament to the determination, vision and hard work of the whole Tink team.
