I first met Gus and the Cover Genius team just before the world was upended by a global pandemic. It was a challenging time for a platform whose early footprint had largely been built in the travel space. They navigated the next two years with remarkable grit and determination. They stayed focused on their ambitious long-term vision and laid the foundations for global scale. We invested in 2022.
Fast-forward to today, Cover Genius now powers market-leading embedded protection solutions across verticals from retail, to travel, logistics, mobility and financial services. Their fast-growing roster of partners is a who’s who of global giants, including Amazon, Revolut, Booking.com, Expedia, Priceline, Stripe, TikTok, Uber and AXS.
Cumulative GWP has now passed $3.2bn. These partnerships are driving tremendous, sustained, and profitable growth as Cover Genius expands with them across new geographies and use cases.
And this is still the opening act.
Today, they have announced a new $100m primary round at a $1.9bn valuation, led by Vista Equity Partners.
