Andrea is an Investor at Dawn. He backs founders with European roots building global companies, and hosts events with founders, angel investors, and the broader tech community.
I believe technology is the defining force shaping our civilization and our economies. It's part of why I studied Neuroscience at Oxford and then Machine Learning at Imperial: I wanted to understand who we are, how intelligence works, and what we do about it. I love discussing and wrestling with deep convictions on what this means for what we build next. For me, that clarity of mission is the first non-negotiable foundation for achieving generational outcomes.
My next chapter working in business taught me the sheer execution required to build an enduring company - the rigour, the dependability, and the grit. I had a taste of the founder journey myself when starting Angry Monk, where we built a B2B supply chain solution which we sold into Fortune 500 companies. I've also worked with tech leaders to launch, scale, and exit multi-billion dollar software companies during my time at McKinsey. The journey is a long one, and now as an investor I see my role as serving through the thick and thin.
More than anything, what I love now is the people I get to work with. The founders, builders, angels, operators, and colleagues – the whole peculiar community of people who actually believe they can build great things. I serve on boards with unbelievably talented founders. I host gatherings with the most smart, kind, and ambitious minds in European tech. This is the part of this job I'd do for free.
