Jess is Executive & Operations Assistant at Dawn, providing support to General Partners Josh Bell and Haakon Overli, and Partners Shamillah Bankiya, Dan Chaplin and Henry Mason.

I studied Managing Performance at the University of Leeds, where I developed an understanding of how to coordinate complex projects, people and moving parts behind the scenes. It turned out to be the perfect foundation for a career I didn't fully anticipate at the time, but have loved ever since.

I spent nine years at CIT Group Partners, a property investment firm, as EA to the Chairman. It was there I realised what I love most about this role is getting to know a person properly: how they think, what matters to them, where they need space and where they need support. Hopefully, when you can get that right, the work stops feeling like effort for either of you.

I love Dawn because of its energy - everyone here is exceptionally talented and hard working whilst always having time for you and making it feel effortless.

Outside of work, I'm happiest when eating pasta and drinking wine with my family and dreaming about returning to Japan.
