Niruk supports the Dawn finance team on accounting, tax and compliance for our investments and funds.

I’ve always been drawn to the logic of models and the way a strong framework can bring clarity to something complex. Studying Accounting and Finance at the University of Edinburgh gave me the technical grounding to apply that thinking to businesses, and it quickly became obvious that finance was where I most enjoyed understanding how companies operate and grow.

I started my career at Oakford Advisors, a specialist financial services accounting firm, preparing management accounts for a portfolio of hedge funds and investment banks. While the role built my technical foundations as a corporate accountant, fund accounting in particular appealed to me. It offered a wider perspective and the opportunity to understand how portfolio companies respond to changing markets.

That curiosity is what brought me to Dawn. As a Senior Fund Accountant, my role focuses on the performance of our funds and how that’s communicated to our wider stakeholders, whether through the preparation of our quarterly reports or by supporting the investment team with waterfalls and round modelling.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching (and occasionally playing) cricket, and spend most of my free time exploring restaurants and trying new recipes.

Niruk joined Dawn from Financial Services specialist accounting firm Oakford Advisors where his training focused on services for hedge funds and investment banks, sparking his interest in the dynamic world of venture capital.

He holds an MA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Edinburgh.
