Roméo is a Vice-President at Dawn Capital, where he covers early-stage startups across Europe, with a focus on the French, DACH, and UK markets.
I started my career in Montreal as a founder of Docplus, a booking management system for dentists and doctors. I later moved to Abidjan to launch the food delivery arm of Jumia (Jumia Food), before joining Kerala Ventures in Paris, where my passion for early-stage investing took root.
Having lived and worked across three continents, I've had the privilege of seeing the world through many different lenses. That international upbringing shapes how I think about markets, people, and opportunity. It's also why I have a particular affinity for founders from diverse backgrounds — those who've had to navigate complexity and uncertainty long before they ever started a company.
At the core of everything I do is a deep, restless curiosity. I'm endlessly fascinated by how things work — whether that's the physical movement of goods that brings abundance to the developed markets, the complex financial flows that underpin global GDP growth, or the quiet operational decisions that determine whether a business thrives or fails. For me, backing founders is an extension of that curiosity: every company is a new system to understand, a new theory of the world to test.
Roméo studied at McGill University.
