Sam organises and oversees all Dawn events. Leveraging nearly a decade of experience in community-building roles, he ensures that we continue to build strong and lasting relationships with Dawn’s community of founders, operators, investors, advisors and peers.
I often find myself reflecting on my early career and how each chapter has quietly shaped the one that followed. From hosting events for the Hardware community in London, to building a hub for early-stage tech companies in Shoreditch, to creating an entrepreneurs' members club in San Francisco, to being part of a founding team at a tech startup, it feels almost inevitable that I'd end up here, at the intersection of venture capital and community.
What's stayed consistent throughout is a genuine belief that events are where ideas come to life and connections turn into real relationships. That's always felt less like a job and more like something I naturally gravitate towards.
I've been energised by what happens when the right people are in the right room. The founder who meets their first enterprise customer. The operator who finds a peer who's been through exactly what they're dealing with. The investor who gets honest insight into a market they've been watching. Those moments, and knowing you helped create the space for them, never get old.
At Dawn, events have become part of our DNA. Whether bringing founders together around topics that matter most to them, partnering with exciting tech communities to host their networks, or helping portfolio companies get their high-value networks in a room, we care about every experience feeling curated, relevant and worth showing up for. It's also how we stay close to the best founders early and keep Dawn front of mind as a true partner in the European B2B SaaS space.
Outside of work, I take a pretty different approach to life. I love slowing things down, spending quality time with friends and family, going for long runs and listening to music. Some of my favourite moments involve channeling my inner pit master cooking outside, getting absorbed in sport throughout the seasons (particularly the Six Nations) and going for long walks with the family.
